“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58 —Gideon Scripture Memory Course verse #40)

Gideon Day

Early on the morning of November 1, Frank Rawley and John Kay visited the fifth graders at St. Timothy’s-Hale Middle School; object—to give them Youth Testaments. It was not only All Saints Day, it was “Gideon Day” at the school. The main teacher, Mrs. Lorie Reedy, warmly welcomed them as always and asked them to tell the children about the Gideons and about the Scriptures they were receiving. After the Testaments were given to all the students, John Kay had everyone read together the two pages about God’s Word in the front of the Testament. Then he pointed out the helps in the front and turned them to the back where he explained the plan of salvation and the importance of believing in Jesus to be accepted into God’s family. After that Frank prayed. All four fifth-grade teachers really appreciated their coming and John and Frank praised God for this opportunity. We distributed 72 Testaments there.
